About the Artist
Donna Frank
Donna Frank (panther clan) is one of the few Seminole women who makes baskets today. She comes from a long line of basket makers her mother, Lena Osceola Frank taught her the art at age 12. Her son, Gary Frank, helps her gathering palmetto fiber from the local area around her home. Helping to preserve and promote Seminole culture. Donna’s work has received wide recognition and is included in the museum and private collections around the world. The Seminole Tribe of Florida often presents her elegant baskets as a gift to visiting dignitaries.
